Loneliness

This picture relates to Crooks from Mice and Men and how he is lonely. Slim separated him from the other workers because he was black. Without others to talk to,  he's just sitting in his barn wishing to have friends.

Pets

This puppy is a symbol of how Lennie loves soft things. He also loves all types of pets and likes to pet them. Soft things calm Lennie down and helps him listen.

Segregation

I think that this picture of segregation relates to the chapter of the book Mice and Men. Crooks is a black worker that does the same job as the others in the bunkhouse but he has to stay in a separate place by the barn. In the fourth chapter, Lennie meets him and they begin talking to each other. Crooks tells Lennie that he is very lonely and just needs someone to talk to. Suddenly Candy comes in from the bunkhouse and finds Lennie with Crooks, and is at first embarrased to enter his home. Eventually he comes in and they all have a good conversation until Curley's wife pops in looking for him. Candy confronts her, saying nobody wants her at the bunkhouse and that she is a problem for everyone. Curley's wife insults everyone,  saying they are all weak and that they can't take care of themselves. This prompts Crooks to tell her to leave, and Curley's wife immediately snaps on him telling him she could get him hurt or killed.

Caregiving

The topic that I chose was caregiving because it really relates to Lennie and George's relationship in mice and men. George is a caregiver to Lennie because he looks after him and makes sure he does the right things. Caregiving is taking care of a person who is an elder or has a disablilty. Types of caregivers are: elderly care, family, patient care assistants. There is also a carers rights movement and  a family caregivers alliance.
